![]() I matched the 20? levels of audio that’s shown on the screen. The reason I mention that is you can choose to use the User Tx Equalizer setting which I do at times. I think it’s under the File list where you have a option to make the onscreen settings to be the same on your radio. You can open it and operate your radio using the program. There is a 590 program you can download for free from the Kenwood web site. It adds some treble and bass to your Tx audio. I usually choose HB2 which is high-boost 2. Rotate that till you see #36 which will say TX Equalizer. You press MENU then rotate the knob above the Volume control named MULTI/ CH. He started the Chelsea? Street Pub and promoted many locations around the DFW area and then sold them for a nice profit. I had no idea at the time as he and his parents were very rich at the time. Well would you believe this kid was, Kenny Bernstein the famous Budweiser Kind funny car and top fuel dragster driver. He held both hands up gently between our faces and backed up saying, sorry man I didn’t mean to upset you, I just want a ride. I said loudly, look this is my car and engine and I intend to drive it myself, if I blow it up it’s my problem. I would be working tuning my engine without it running. I was about 21 at the time and each race which was the first Sunday of the month he would show up. Their was this kid about 17 that kept bugging me to drive my loud Chevy wagon. I saw some great races at that track years after I got out of racing as it was a very expensive hobby. It was famous for it’s owners, Bill and Dorothy McClure and the uphill shutoff area not far past the finish line. The famous track was located a few miles north of Smithfield, Tx. I drove though grapevine back in the early 60’s towing my 57 Chevy drag wagon to green valley to race in the D/Gas class. It was their till about 7 years ago and I think they built homes over it. I’m a old drag racer and I remember the first drag strip in Texas was located just southwest of Grapevine. ![]() Actually it was just north of 114 where that happened according to some book I have on them. I remember the road that runs north and south off of 114 just west of grapevine was where bonnie and clyde shot the two motorcycle cops. I see your near the Texas Motor Speedway. Sure brings back memories of your location. I looked up your city on the google maps. BTW I know nothing about Kenwood equipment but I am planning on upgrading soon. Qso's like this are why I enjoy the hobby. We talked for a while about the 590sg and he sent me an e-mail that I thought I would share. He has had a good time updating his equipment. I has a great QSO with a very nice man who just got back into the hobby after 20 years.
